Movies in 2008

There are a good amount movies that I wasn’t able to get to this year due to added baby wrangling duties, so there are some very obvious choices of great movies this year not on my list (didn’t see The Wrestler, Benjamin Button, Snow Angels, Man on Wire, Milk, Doubt). So with that said, here were my favorites, in no particular order:

Role Models
Dark Knight
In Bruges
Burn After Reading
Then She Found Me

Happy New Year!

  1. Nice list. I posted my top ten on my blog… check it out if you want.

My number one movie in 2008 was Gran Torino. Knowing your “third way” beliefs in response to violence, I think you’d like it too. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

  2. you have got to see milk. just awesome.
    doubt : very very good.

have you done music in 2008 ? because if so, you have got to hear the latest dear and the headlights album. not only because they are a local band, who ya gotta love and support, but the album is just legit. hoag did another brilliant job producing their album.

  3. I don’t know if you like Charlie Kaufman at all, but if so, you need to check out Synecdoche, NY with Philip Seymour Hoffman. Its making all kinds of “best of” lists, including TIME, and it hasn’t even seen a wide release yet.

  4. I am on the Daddy Movie review plan…When it comes out on Blu Ray, I watch it while the little man is asleep.

I was surprised at how much I liked Wall-E, I really thought it would be short circuit 3…amazing that a movie with so little dialog was that entertaining. Even Liam watched it from start to finish and he is 2!

Dark Knight was also good, and as much as I despise hyped movies and characters, Heath Ledger was nothing short of spectacular.

I also thought for an action flick that Iron Man was really good.
