Tonight is the Night!!!

As I’ve posted before, a few of my friends and I will be hosting a screening of the movie “A Closer Walk” at 7pm on March 30th at Pollack Tempe Cinemas. The screening will be free of charge and anyone who is interested in seeing this film is invited to attend.

For those of you who may not know, “A Closer Walk” is a movie directed by Robert Bilheimer, an academy award nominated documentary film maker. As the films website states, “A Closer Walk is the first film to depict humankind’s confrontation with the global AIDS epidemic,” and it does so in a powerful and heartbreaking manner.

Our hope is that you come and learn about how HIV/AIDS is impacting millions upon millions of people throughout our global community. Also, we hope that this film might help compel us to step into this issue with a heart of service and justice.

Here is a list of my friends/bloggers who are all a part of making this screening happen: Justin Narducci, Zack Newsome, Kelli Newsome, David Mulhern, Jamie Mulhern, Brandon Willey.

Click here to view a trailer for the film and click here for all the info for the event.

We hope you can come to the screening and be a part of this event with us.

  1. hey zach, my name is drew and i daresay that i’m a pretty big fan of the band; i’m glad i ran into this blog though because it seems like you actually care and want to see change occur. you talk about having a heart of service and justice; i’m currently living in an RV for a group called Invisible Children, which is about a 20 year long civil war in Northern Uganda. We are trying to raise awareness by showing screenings in various areas all across the west coast; there are 7 RVs around the nation doing exactly what we are doing. if you have the time between recording and playing xbox, if you would just check out the website at; plus, i’d love to get a copy of the film in your hands because the film pretty much speaks for itself. let me know; my email is
    thanks so much

  2. Zach, I’m interested in hearing how the screening went. Wish I could have been there to see it. Give us an update.

Drew, Great to hear from you here in our little community. I have the Invisible Children DVD and have shown it to our community here in the Seattle area. I’m pretty sure that Zach is familiar with it as well. How did you hook up with saying in the RV’s and where are the 7 RV’s located? Anything in the great NW?

  3. Dean! we are in seattle at the moment doing screenings for pretty much the whole month. where have you shown it? we will be around town; email me at and lets talk. the other RV’s are in Oklahoma, Texas, California, Florida, and somewhere in the Midwest and the East Coast.

  4. Dean, the screening went really well. we had a great turn out and I think the movie had a great impact on the audience. here are some photos from the event that the one campaign volunteers took.
